Hailed as the Lehigh Valley's premier Celtic fiddle teacher, Alison has been teaching both classical violin and fiddle styles from her private music studio, through Moravian College and the Moravian College Music Institute, in public and private grade schools, and as a workshop clinician for more than 30 years.
Alison is founder of the long-running Celtic Classic Youth Fiddle Competition, as well as the monthly Celtic music session at Braveheart Highland Pub (second Sunday every month in non-COVID times) in Hellertown, PA. Her innovative and inspirational teaching style has resulted in award-winning students, many of whom go on to be professional musicians in some capacity.
Her home studio, Fiddler's Creek Music Studio, is based in Center Valley, PA., where she teaches both classical violin (beginner and intermediate) and traditional fiddle styles at all levels. With beginner through advanced students, children and adults, Alison's studio focuses on both music literacy and traditional aural learning. Students can opt from a variety of lesson options, both in-person or virtual, and have opportunities to participate in music camps, community events, recitals, folk music jam sessions and competitions to gain performance experience with professional accompanists.
